[Barcelona, Spain = DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee] SK Telecom said on March 5 it won an award at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) 2026 with its graphics processing unit (GPU) cluster Haein (海印·Haein).

The GLOMO best cloud solution category is awarded to innovative cloud technologies and services that accelerate digital transformation for customers and companies and present new possibilities.

Haein is a high-performance GPU infrastructure built as a single cluster with more than 1,000 B200 chips equipped with Nvidia's next-generation AI accelerator chip, Blackwell. SKT is developing a GPU-as-a-service (GPUaaS) business that provides GPU resources in cloud form based on it.

The cluster's name was inspired by Haeinsa temple, where the Tripitaka Koreana is housed. It reflects an aim to become a “Korean-style sovereign AI” infrastructure that holds a Tripitaka Koreana for the digital era. SKT is providing a stable computing environment through Haein that is optimised for large-scale AI model training and inference.

SKT said it applied its own GPU virtualisation solution, Petasus Cloud, enabling the cluster to be immediately split and reconfigured to meet demand. It said this maximised utilisation, and it also provided an integrated AI development and operations management platform, AI Cloud Manager, improving efficiency and convenience.

Separately, the Haein GPU cluster was selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT's GPU rental support programme and is supporting an “independent AI foundation model” project.

SKT said the latest award marked its third consecutive win in the best cloud solution category. It won in 2024 with Cloud Radar, which analyses and optimises cloud usage and patterns with AI, and in 2025 with Petasus Cloud.

Myung-guk Kim (김명국), head of SKT's GPUaaS business, said, "It is meaningful that the Haein GPU cluster built on the next-generation AI chip B200 has won an award at the globally prestigious GLOMO Awards." He said, "We will continue to strive to contribute to expanding the Korean-style sovereign AI ecosystem and strengthening global AI competitiveness."
