Naver Pay expands overseas QR payment benefits for Chuseok, earns points in 74 countries
Naver Pay is expanding benefits for customers using overseas QR payments during the Chuseok holiday period, offering point accrual and payment discounts. It is running a “bokjumeoni” event available in 74 countries and regions where users open a pouch to see random payment and point conditions and receive points immediately after meeting them abroad. It is also offering country-specific discounts in Japan, mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

GLN International links with SeoulPay, expands QR payment merchants to 1.5 million
GLN International, a unit of Hana Bank, will link with SeoulPay to expand the number of domestic QR payment merchants available to foreign tourists visiting South Korea to about 1.5 million. GLN said it partnered with Coocon, the operator of SeoulPay, adding 500,000 small-business merchants in Seoul to its QR payment network. The service area will expand to Seoul alley commercial districts including Myeongdong and Seongsu.
