Tesla to build $10.12 billion solar cell plant in Texas, hire 9,712 in major investment
Tesla has filed plans to build a $10.116 billion solar cell plant in Fort Bend County, Texas, and said it would hire 9,712 workers. The company applied for a 10-year property tax break under the Texas JETI program and set commercial production for the first quarter of 2029. The filing describes a fully vertically integrated facility producing cells and modules from polysilicon, but Tesla said Texas is not yet the final site.
