Range raises $8.3 million to expand stablecoin-fiat integration platform

Range, a stablecoin startup headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, raised $8.3 million in a Series A round. The Block reported that its total funding has increased to $11 million. The round included fintech funds such as Switzerland’s TX Ventures and U.S.-based SixThirty, as well as crypto-native investors including Maven 11 Capital and Onigiri Capital. Range provides an integrated platform for companies handling stablecoins and fiat currencies.

Wealthsimple to launch Kalshi-based prediction market app in Canada

Canadian fintech company Wealthsimple will launch a Kalshi-based prediction market app, Wealthsimple Predict, this summer. Canadian retail investors will be able to trade about 4,000 event contracts linked to financial markets, economic indicators and climate through the app. CIRO approved Wealthsimple in March to offer prediction market contracts, making it the second investment dealer allowed to do so in Canada. The contracts are regulated as derivatives and have a minimum settlement period of 30 days.

Goldgenie crypto payments surge 300 percent, with clear preference for XRP

Dubai-based luxury technology and customisation firm Goldgenie said its cryptocurrency payments rose 300 percent over the past six months, with XRP emerging as one of customers’ preferred payment options. The company supports XRP, bitcoin, ether and stablecoins and said the period was its strongest growth stretch since it began accepting crypto in 2015. It cited rising familiarity with digital assets, wider stablecoin use and improved payment infrastructure.
