Cardano Card service to end at end of October, alternative undecided
The Visa-based multichain cryptocurrency payment card \"Cardano Card\" in the Cardano (ADA) ecosystem will end service on Oct. 31. The operator said the card can be used normally until the end date and urged users to prepare. The shutdown follows program partner Wirex ending its custodial infrastructure and moving to a non-custodial model, which will end the partnership. Details on a replacement service will be announced later, but no alternative has been confirmed.

Charles Hoskinson says Cardano technology advances but standing slips, strategy needs change
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said Cardano\'s technology has improved significantly since 2024, but its market assessment and industry standing have not kept pace. He pointed to the Ouroboros Leios upgrade as evidence of technical progress, while acknowledging weak market performance. ADA has fallen to around $0.18 from a peak of $1.31 after the 2024 U.S. election. Hoskinson also floated creating a political party to form DReps for on-chain governance participation.
