Post Office chief checks special election mail processing ahead of local elections
Park In-hwan (박인환), head of the Korea Post, visited the Seoul Mapo and Seodaemun post offices on May 24 to inspect on-site processing of election mail ahead of the ninth nationwide local elections on June 3. The Korea Post set May 12 to election day as a special election-mail period and shifted to an emergency work system. Korea Postal Service begins special mail handling for local elections
South Korea\'s nationwide post offices will shift to an emergency work system ahead of the June 3 9th nationwide local elections. The Ministry of Science and ICT\'s Postal Service said it will run a 23-day special handling period for election mail from May 12 through election day. It expects to handle 32.8 million items, including election booklets and voting notices, and return mail for out-of-district early voting ballots.
