Genesis unveils first hybrid GV80 HEV, aims to maximise EV-like driving feel
Genesis unveiled the GV80 HEV, its first hybrid model, and will begin sales next month. The SUV applies Hyundai Motor Group’s next-generation 2.5 turbo hybrid system for the first time, aiming for driving feel closer to an electric vehicle and improved fuel economy. It uses a parallel hybrid setup with two motors and introduces a liquid-cooled battery. Genesis said the 2WD model’s fuel economy improves about 25 percent over the gasoline version.
