Tom Lee says Ethereum to outperform Bitcoin in coming years as ETH/BTC ratio gains

Tom Lee (톰 리) forecast that Ethereum will post higher returns than Bitcoin over the next several years. He pointed to the ETH/BTC ratio, which he said is rising and has moved up to 0.02994, as a sign Ethereum is breaking out of a long-term downtrend. Lee cited Wall Street asset tokenisation and the spread of agent-based artificial intelligence as new growth drivers. He also said the ratio could rise further.

BitMine buys another 9,926 ether, nears 5 percent of circulating supply goal

BitMine bought an additional 9,926 ether over the past week, lifting its total holdings to 5,815,164. That equals 4.8 percent of the 120.7 million ether in circulation as of Aug. 17, Coinpost reported. The company said its total holdings, including cryptocurrencies and cash-like assets, reached $11.4 billion. It also bought back shares under a $4 billion program and has repurchased 20.8 million shares since July.

Ethereum up 19 percent in July; bottom signal \'not yet\'

Ethereum posted a higher return than bitcoin in July, supported by inflows into spot exchange-traded funds and increased corporate buying. It rose 19 percent for the month, while bitcoin gained 8 percent. Market expectations grew that funds may be rotating back into ethereum, and net inflows into spot ethereum ETFs outpaced those for bitcoin ETFs. Still, analysis said ETH/BTC on-chain indicators have not reached historical low zones, making a confirmed trend reversal difficult to assert.
