OpenAI held its annual developer conference, DevDay 2026, in San Francisco on Sept. 29 local time, unveiling more than 20 new products and features across ChatGPT, Codex, models and APIs. The focus was an always-on AI agent called dots, alongside the GPT-6.1 Sol model and faster paid tiers. The company also introduced agent APIs, new enterprise offerings and Codex cloud capabilities, plus expanded integrations, a marketplace and new subscription plans.

OpenAI has unveiled Dots, an always-on AI agent positioned against Meta\'s AI assistant Muse. Announced at OpenAI\'s annual developer event DevDay, Dots works in the background across connected applications and learns user preferences to personalise results. Built on GPT-6 Astra, it can connect to more than 4,000 apps via its own cloud computer and web browser, supports chat and voice, and includes safety rules and review features.

OpenAI added collaboration spaces, document creation and slide features to ChatGPT as it targets the business software market. TechCrunch reported that OpenAI unveiled the new functions for office users at its DevDay developer event in San Francisco. The most notable addition is Spaces, a shared workspace for enterprise users to work with the chatbot and the new AI agent persona Dots. OpenAI also introduced Pages and a collaborative slide tool.
