OpenAI will hold the "OpenAI DevDay Exchange: Seoul" event on Oct. 22 in Seoul's Gangnam district for local developers and tech entrepreneurs, it said on Thursday.

DevDay Exchange is an event where OpenAI shares the technology and experience of its annual U.S. developer event, DevDay, with developer communities in various countries. This year it will be held in eight cities worldwide, including Seoul.

At DevDay 2026 in San Francisco on Sept. 29, OpenAI announced more than 20 major updates, including GPT-6.1 Sol, AI agent Dots and the Agent API.

In Seoul, Albert Yap (앨버트 입), OpenAI's head of technical success for Asia-Pacific, will deliver the keynote. OpenAI engineers will then run technical sessions and demonstrations on topics including the ChatGPT platform and plugins, AI agent development, Codex security, and real-time voice and image generation technology.

AWS and LG CNS will also take part and share cases of applying OpenAI technology to actual work and services. The venue will include technology demo booths and a developer networking program.

OpenAI Korea country manager Kyung-hoon Kim (김경훈) said he hopes the event will give Korean developers a chance to experience new AI technology firsthand and lead to the development of real products and services.
