EU delays high-risk AI rules to end-2027, complicating digital sovereignty strategy

The adjustment aims to ease competitive burdens on AI companies, though critics warn it could expand U.S. big tech influence. The EU also widened exemptions for some industries while tightening measures on sexually explicit AI images and requiring visible labels on AI-made content from December.
