EU digital battery passport mandate next year raises worries for small suppliers in South Korea
South Korea\'s battery supply chain is facing a test as the European Union\'s digital battery passport mandate approaches next year. Major cell makers have set up response systems, but many small materials suppliers lack IT systems and specialist staff to measure carbon emissions. Carbon data for the passport requires lifecycle assessment information from multiple tiers of suppliers. Industry groups say small and mid-sized firms lack expertise, budget and manpower, widening gaps with large companies.

AI adoption needs data democratisation, ITCEN Info U says as it expands Databricks build cases
ITCEN Info U said on Tuesday it has presented ways to close a \"data use gap\" that it described as a hurdle to adopting artificial intelligence, based on cases of upgrading data platforms using Databricks. It said it tailored analysis environments using Databricks Genie and an intelligent agent structure for a global manufacturer, and introduced Databricks Metric View for a virtual asset exchange to standardise data logic. The company said it completed more than 10 key projects and earned Databricks DPP certification, becoming a 2026 Silver Tier partner.

IBCT completes battery passport platform PoC with SK AX to verify EU regulatory readiness
IBCT, a data space specialist, said on Feb. 9 it completed a battery passport platform proof of concept with SK AX. The project followed a September memorandum of understanding on responding to a global manufacturing data ecosystem. Using IBCT’s Infirium supply chain data management SaaS, the companies validated the battery passport data structure under the EU Battery Regulation and tested battery passport data exchange between supply chains on the platform.
