XRP rally tops top 100 cryptocurrencies by gains

XRP surged as much as about 24 percent on Aug. 20, the biggest gain among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market value. It climbed to about $1.26 and was up about 31 percent over seven days. XRP’s rise outpaced other major altcoins. With a market value of about $79.15 billion, it ranked fifth among cryptocurrencies, with about $6.34 billion in 24-hour trading volume.

Trump Media drops crypto reserve and prediction market plans

Trump Media & Technology Group has halted plans to set up a CRO-based cryptocurrency reserve company and related digital-asset businesses it had pursued with Crypto.com. It said it mutually agreed with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition to end the “Trump Media Group CRO Strategy,” existing service contracts and plans for digital-asset products. Trump Media also shelved a plan to integrate a prediction market into Truth Social, shifting to a marketing deal instead.
