U.S. probes possible cyberattack after refrigeration failures at military facilities
U.S. authorities are investigating after refrigeration and freezer equipment at grocery stores on multiple military facilities broke down around the same time, raising the possibility of a cyberattack targeting control systems. Reports cited disruptions at 14 facilities across 11 states on Aug. 26-27, though not all were officially confirmed. The Pentagon acknowledged issues at some Defense Commissary Agency stores but did not disclose the full scale or cause.
