The comments were made at a roundtable held after the launch of the Xiaomi 17T Pro, which highlights Leica-tuned cameras and Google’s text-to-video tool Gemini Omni. Leica also underscored photo authenticity tools, including digital signatures and metadata.

Google expands Circle to Search to check AI image creation and edit history
Google is expanding its ability to identify AI-generated or AI-edited images across Android’s Circle to Search, Google Lens, Chrome and Search, using its SynthID watermarking technology. The company said the feature can go beyond simple detection and, in some cases, show an image’s history, such as being shot on a Pixel phone and edited with AI tools in Google Photos. Google said accuracy and history depth can vary, and watermarking is not foolproof.
