Seoul climate commute card 30-day pass ends, financial firms\' race for transit users shifts

Seoul\'s 30-day Climate Companion Card pass will effectively end at the end of this month, shifting competition among financial firms to win public transport users. The city will end operations of the 30-day pass on Oct. 1, while short-term passes continue. Seoul has launched the Climate Companion Pass by adding Seoul-specific benefits to the Everyone\'s Card (K-Pass). Card issuers are focusing on their own perks as policy refunds are the same across participants.

K Bank introduces \'Everyone\'s Card\' unlimited public transport pass

K Bank said on Tuesday it will apply the government\'s new unlimited public transport flat-rate pass, \'Everyone\'s Card\', to its ONE check card. The pass refunds all transport costs above a set threshold, replacing the previous K-Pass limit of 60 monthly discounts. It applies nationwide and includes services such as the Shinbundang Line and GTX. The bank said its existing cashback benefits, including an additional VIP cashback, will continue.
