XRP origin dispute: Ripple former CTO says real start was 2012
David Schwartz, former chief technology officer of Ripple, drew a line under a long-running dispute over XRP’s origins, rejecting claims that XRP was created before bitcoin or that Canadian programmer Ryan Fugger was its founder. Schwartz said XRP’s history began in 2012, after Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb acquired RipplePay and the OpenCoin team rebuilt the technology. Others also dismissed attempts to link a 1988 U.S. patent filed by Schwartz to XRP.

Evernode CEO recalls early days of XRP
Evernode CEO Ashish Birla (애시시 벌라) said XRP is returning to a foundation-layer role in the global financial system.
