ChatGPT adds virtual try-on and favorites features
OpenAI added virtual clothing try-on and a Favorites saving feature to ChatGPT, expanding its shopping assistance tools. The update will roll out sequentially to users worldwide. Users can upload selfies or full-body photos to see how clothes or accessories would look, with a new “try on” button shown in shopping results. Favorites lets users save items in an in-app library, stored alongside virtual try-on images. The update uses the ChatGPT Image 2.5 model.

ChatGPT Image 2.5 vs Nano Banana 2: AI image generators face off - who wins?
OpenAI’s new image model, ChatGPT Image 2.5, has improved an over-sharpening issue flagged in its previous version, but a comparison with Google-side Nano Banana 2 was too close to call. In six evaluation categories, the two models each won three, producing a near draw. ChatGPT Image 2.5 performed better in spatial composition, mood and illustrations, while Nano Banana 2 more reliably handled verifiable details such as text and dates.

Should AI model development really be slowed? AI safety debate enters new phase
The debate over AI model safety has flared again as people working at, or who previously worked at, AI companies raise the prospect of human extinction from AI. Major AI companies have also floated slowing AI development. Sam Altman (샘 알트먼), CEO of OpenAI, said solving AI safety issues comes first and said the company will not pursue an IPO this year.
