Apex Mobility unveils three-stage autonomous driving roadmap

The autonomous driving industry is shifting from rules-based systems to data-centric approaches, Apex Mobility said. The company presented a three-stage roadmap focused on commercialising autonomous driving services, starting with turning Socar’s data assets into simulation-ready formats. It then plans to secure high-quality training data, including from a prototype Ioniq 5 fitted with lidar and seven cameras, and finally link a large data platform to autonomous services such as Level 4 ride-hailing and robobuses.

Lee Kyung-jong (이경종), head of KB Kookmin Bank and KB Financial Group’s Financial AI2 Center, said AI competitiveness comes from trusted data that agents can act on, not from models. He said most corporate AI still functions as search, requiring staff to verify and enter results. KB is building an environment for “acting AI” by reshaping data around meaning and using an on-demand connection structure on Snowflake, while expanding agent development across front-, mid- and back-office work.

MSIT awards ICT internship achievements to boost youth employment links

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT on Aug. 27 visited an outstanding company in its ICT credit-linked project internship programme and held an awards ceremony at Seoul\'s COEX. The programme supports undergraduates taking internships at domestic and overseas AI and IT firms and receiving academic credit. A total of 3,053 people participated through last year. Graduates\' average employment rate in 2022-2025 was 89.3 percent.
