Google launches \'Nano Banana 2\' model, says faster and sharper
Google has unveiled its AI image-generation model \'Nano Banana 2\' (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image), TechCrunch reported on Feb. 26. The model can generate images in various aspect ratios from 512px up to 4K and can express up to five characters and 14 objects. It will be used as the default model across Gemini image modes and Flow, and as Google Search’s default image generator in 141 countries. API support is also expanding.

AI fake news sites surge tenfold, 1970s-era review regulation cannot stop them
A surge in generative AI content is creating a need to change the media review system, a forum at South Korea’s National Assembly heard. Kim Hee-kyung (김희경) said the quality of most news data and information content is no longer assured and that traditional review systems do not work in the AI era. Watermark removal methods spread on social media two weeks after AI basic act takes effect
South Korea has made visible or invisible watermarks mandatory for generative AI output under its AI basic act, with fines of up to 30 million won for violations. Yet guides on removing marks are spreading on social media, using built-in tools such as Windows “Generative erase” and Mac “Cleanup” as well as third-party removers. The law lacks a basis to sanction users or platforms if marks are damaged during distribution. Lawmakers have proposed amendments to expand obligations to posters and platforms.
