Boeing sells three air taxi startups to Archer Aviation
Boeing is selling three electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) subsidiaries to Archer Aviation and will also take an equity stake in Archer. The assets include Wisk Aero, SkyGrid and Insitu. Boeing and Archer will share technology, while Boeing will retain access to Wisk’s autonomous flight system for commercial and defence projects. Archer plans to begin pilot air taxi services before year-end in New York, Texas and Florida.

Amsterdam Schiphol airport trials electric TaxiBot tug, expects 80% cut in aircraft ground emissions
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has begun trial operations of the electric aircraft tug TaxiBot to sharply cut emissions produced during ground movements. The airport is testing the system in a real operating environment and expects it to reduce carbon emissions from ground taxiing by more than 80 percent. TaxiBot can move aircraft and supply power without running the main engines or auxiliary power unit, cutting fuel use, noise and exhaust exposure.

Gemini beats ChatGPT in performance tests
Data has shown why Apple selected Google’s Gemini as an AI partner for its next iPhone, with Gemini beating OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4 to 3 with 1 draw in model comparisons. Ars Technica reported Gemini led on information accuracy and practical advice, while ChatGPT performed better in creativity and an emergency landing scenario. Gemini was also judged more reliable after ChatGPT produced errors in a Super Mario Bros strategy question.
