BlockTower Capital founder says there is no way to keep crypto completely safe as Coldcard hack shocks market
A vulnerability in Coldcard hardware wallets led to the theft of about 1,082.65 bitcoin in 41 minutes, reigniting debate over the limits of crypto storage. BlockTower Capital founder Ari Paul said there is no way to store cryptocurrency completely safely, arguing both self-custody and third-party custody carry risks. ShapeShift founder Erik Voorhees countered that the incident should be seen as a product defect, not proof that secure storage is impossible.
