BT seen raising more than 2 billion pounds from scrapping ageing copper network
BT may be able to secure more than 2 billion pounds by selling copper recovered while dismantling its ageing copper telephone network, as higher copper prices turn infrastructure once slated for disposal into a new revenue source. The value of the reclaimed copper is seen rising from about 1.5 billion pounds to above 2 billion pounds, amid growing global demand tied to AI data centres, renewable energy investment and electrification.

Apple may adopt next-generation OLED with wider colour gamut for MacBook and iPad
Apple may apply OLED displays supporting a wider colour gamut than current models to future MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and iMac products, a report said. TrendForce analysed that Apple plans to introduce OLED panels capable of reaching 95 percent of the BT.2020 colour space in stages. The report said the shift could raise image-quality standards, while panel makers develop new OLED materials and supply-chain competition intensifies.

UK telecoms warn of data speed limits as power bills surge
Major UK telecoms have warned they could restrict mobile calls and data access if the sector is left out of government support to cut industrial electricity bills. They say rising power costs could force network speed limits, reduced service at certain times and scaled-back 5G investment. The industry says mobile networks must run around the clock and consume large amounts of electricity, making it hard to cut usage during expensive periods.
