UK telecoms warn of data speed limits as power bills surge
Major UK telecoms have warned they could restrict mobile calls and data access if the sector is left out of government support to cut industrial electricity bills. They say rising power costs could force network speed limits, reduced service at certain times and scaled-back 5G investment. The industry says mobile networks must run around the clock and consume large amounts of electricity, making it hard to cut usage during expensive periods.

Samsung Electronics targets Europe AI TV market with Vision AI Companion
Samsung Electronics unveiled its 2026 TV and audio lineup with enhanced AI features for the European market, demonstrating products at its 2026 European Tech Seminar in Frankfurt. The company highlighted its Vision AI Companion platform, designed to make TVs a smart home hub with content information and other functions. It also promoted Micro RGB TVs and new OLED models, and introduced new monitors and WiFi speakers.

Nvidia unveils AI-RAN-based 6G vision to turn telecom networks into AI infrastructure
Nvidia unveiled a vision to build 6G on an AI-native platform ahead of the opening of MWC Barcelona, together with the global telecommunications industry. SiliconANGLE reported Nvidia will work with partners including Booz Allen Hamilton, BT Group, Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, Nokia and T-Mobile. CEO Jensen Huang said AI is driving the largest infrastructure build in human history. Nvidia said it aims to turn networks into AI infrastructure through AI-RAN technology.
