Aurora plans to raise driverless trucks to 200 on U.S. highways by year-end
U.S. autonomous driving company Aurora Innovation plans to increase its driverless heavy-truck fleet tenfold by the end of the year, from 20 to 200 vehicles. The trucks will haul freight on interstate routes in Texas. Chief Executive Chris Urmson (크리스 엄슨) said the vehicles could save fuel, deliver faster and ease driver shortages, with potential to operate up to 20 hours a day. Analysts estimated higher profitability but said savings are not confirmed.
