Apple\'s new OS boosts app launch and AirDrop speeds but drops older devices
Apple unveiled iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, highlighting performance gains such as up to 30 percent faster app launches and up to 80 percent faster AirDrop transfers. Apple raises trade-in values for latest iPhone and iPad models
Apple has raised trade-in values, focusing on iPhone and iPad models. The iPhone 16 Pro Max maximum trade-in value rose to $695 from $685, while iPhone 16 Pro, Plus and the base iPhone 16 also increased. iPad Pro, Air, base iPad and iPad mini values were lifted as well. Changes for Apple Watch and Mac were mixed, while Android phone trade-in estimates were trimmed slightly.

Some iPhone 17 and iPhone Air models fail to power on after battery drains, recover with MagSafe charging
Some 2025 iPhone models have been reported to fail to power back on after their batteries fully drain, even when connected to USB-C charging, Gigazine reported. The issue has been seen across the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 line, though its frequency and impact remain unclear. Users said placing the phone on a MagSafe charger for about 15 minutes often triggers a reboot. Similar reports also appeared for Apple Watch Ultra 2.
