KakaoAI inaugural board takes shape, with former minister and ex-tax chief joining
Kakao plans to staff the inaugural board of KakaoAI, which it will create through a corporate spin-off, with experts in technology, policy and finance. A company filing shows the board is set to have seven members, including two inside directors and four outside directors. They include former science minister Lim Hye-sook (임혜숙) and former National Tax Service chief Kim Dae-ji (김대지). Kakao plans to complete the split on Jan. 1.

Cinnamon selected as AI voucher supplier, specialises in 3D AI video production
AI startup Cinnamon was selected on March 24 as a supplier for the 2026 AI Voucher Support Programme run by the Ministry of Science and ICT and NIPA. The programme issues vouchers to small and medium-sized, venture and mid-sized companies to support adoption of supplier solutions. Companies seeking to adopt Cinnamon’s solution can receive vouchers of up to 200 million won. Cinnamon’s selected service, CineV, automatically converts text or scripts into 3D animation.

Innosus raises 14.2 billion won in Series A funding
Aesthetic medical device startup Innosus said on Tuesday it raised 14.2 billion won in a Series A round from investors including Altos Ventures. It said part of the funding involved a secondary share sale by Tail Ventures, which identified the company at the seed stage. Innosus develops Alltite, a lifting device applying dielectric heating used in cancer and rehabilitation treatment. It plans to accelerate expansion into North America, Europe and Asia and increase R&D investment.
