SK Hynix signs 12 trillion won EUV equipment deal with ASML

SK Hynix decided to introduce extreme ultraviolet (EUV) equipment worth about 12 trillion won to support mass production of next-generation semiconductor processes. The company said on March 24 it would sign a purchase contract for EUV scanners with ASML Korea after a board resolution. The deal is valued at 6.91 billion euros, or 11.95 trillion won, and equipment will be introduced sequentially over two years through Dec. 31, 2027.

ASML opens integrated training centre in Hwaseong

ASML Korea has opened an integrated training centre at its Hwaseong campus, consolidating two existing training sites into a 3,100 square metre facility. The centre is designed to provide ongoing education on advanced lithography equipment, including DUV and EUV systems, modules and a cleanroom. ASML said it expects about 4,000 trainees a year, and plans to expand courses to include High-NA EUV equipment.
