Honda patents swappable-battery electric motorcycle, betting on low cost and simplicity
Honda has drawn attention with a newly filed patent for an electric motorcycle aimed at cost-sensitive markets where commuter bikes are a main form of transport. The model keeps a traditional layout with a steel frame, basic suspension and drum brakes, replacing the engine with a small motor and two removable batteries. The key feature is a hinged side-cage mounting system secured by a lock. Honda did not disclose performance figures.
