Tesla AI chip executive leaves to join former Dojo team startup DencityAI
A key executive who led Tesla\'s AI hardware design has moved to DencityAI, a startup founded by the former Dojo team. The executive, Sishuai Sun, has worked at DencityAI since July on packaging and system hardware. He previously spent more than five years at Tesla on Dojo and Autopilot computers and most recently served as senior director of AI hardware design. The move comes as Tesla advances AI5 and AI6 chip plans and builds manufacturing infrastructure.

Tesla, SpaceX unveil details of $16.8 billion Terafab, Musk calls it most valuable building on Earth
Tesla and SpaceX have selected Grimes County, Texas as the site for Terafab, a semiconductor mega-factory, and put first-phase investment at about $16.8 billion. The companies project the site will exceed 100 million square feet when completed and describe it as the world’s largest chip manufacturing facility. Tesla finalises $2 billion AI hardware acquisition, keeps target undisclosed
Tesla has completed a previously undisclosed acquisition of an AI hardware company for $1.95 billion, largely paid in common stock and stock-based compensation. Only $222 million was recognised as acquired intangible assets, while $1.73 billion was set as contingent consideration linked to employee retention and performance milestones. Tesla did not disclose the target’s name or details. It said it would recognise costs for the contingent amount only if achievement becomes probable.
