Apollo says no clear evidence yet AI is cutting jobs
Apollo Global Management chief economist Torsten Slok said there is no evidence so far that AI is reducing jobs. Citing the ADP National Employment Report, he said private-sector employment is still rising and companies are hiring workers needed to adopt AI. He wrote that demand for AI implementation specialists is increasing and data center expansion is pushing up wages for AI talent and prices for semiconductors, equipment and energy.

Samsung Electronics signs EU CoC to expand energy cooperation in Europe
Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it has become the first South Korean company to sign the EU smart appliance energy code of conduct. The voluntary programme, led by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, encourages development and wider adoption of high-efficiency smart appliances linked to power management systems. Samsung said the signing will broaden cooperation with European power companies. Its washer-dryers, washing machines and dishwashers meet the criteria and are registered as energy smart appliances in EPREL.

Sam Altman says AI job shock is coming, but current layoffs are overstated
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (샘 알트먼) said some recent job cuts in the tech sector are not directly related to artificial intelligence but are being explained as if they were, calling the trend “AI washing.” He said not all layoffs should be attributed to AI, though he expects AI’s tangible impact on jobs to be felt within the next few years. He also said new types of jobs will emerge over the long term.
