PIPC issues personal data protection guide for generative AI users
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission said on May 19 it published a personal data protection guide for users of generative AI services to address common questions. It said the guide focuses on strengthening users\' AI literacy, based on complaints, policy proposals and consultation cases. The guide visualises how personal data is processed from collection to AI training and service use, and covers user-controlled functions such as opting out of training and managing chat record storage and deletion.

Ahead of a 2026 cryptocurrency bull market, 10 early-stage projects including elizaOS, Monad, Midnight and Zora are being mentioned as candidates with “1,000x upside potential.” The Crypto Basic introduced the list on May 14, citing next-generation narratives such as AI, privacy, Layer 1 and the creator economy. It warned that small-cap tokens carry major risks, including extreme volatility, liquidity shortages and project failure.

TTA sets up dedicated project group for AI security standardisation
The Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) said on Monday it has set up a dedicated project group to standardise “AI security” aimed at ensuring trust in AI models and protecting data. The group will pursue domestic and international standards focused on information security for AI systems, privacy protection, security evaluation, and security for generative and agentic AI. TTA said it plans to develop standards reflecting new threats such as model theft and prompt injection, and AI-related laws and regulations.
