SKT to foster 500 startups over five years as CEO Jung Jae-heon pledges \'AI companion\' role
SK Telecom plans to support 500 promising startups over the next five years to help bolster the AI industry ecosystem, it said. CEO Jung Jae-heon met leaders of South Korean startups at MWC26 in Barcelona and pledged that SKT would act as an “AI companion”. SKT is backing 15 AI and ESG startups at the 4YFN event and plans to support 80 startups this year, increasing the total annually through 2030.

KT to showcase AI innovation technology blending K-culture in Barcelona at MWC26
KT will participate in MWC26 in Barcelona from March 2 to 5 to unveil Korean innovation technologies combining K-culture and AI. It will set up a Gwanghwamun Square-themed exhibition in Hall 4 of the main venue, with six themed zones. The display will include an enterprise AX operating system, a physical AI strategy and a robot-as-a-service platform, along with 6G-ready AI network concepts and demonstrations by affiliates and partners.

KT to run startup cooperation pavilion at MWC26 to support overseas expansion
KT will operate a cooperation pavilion at Mobile World Congress 2026 to support overseas expansion by South Korean small and venture firms, it said on Monday. KT will set up a standalone booth in the 4YFN startup exhibition hall in Barcelona and showcase 12 companies presenting AX-based technologies such as AI solutions, platforms and robotics. KT will also host investment and export consultations and support IR presentations.
