DeepSeek unveils faster, lighter V4.1-Flash-1017
Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has released a faster and lighter AI model called V4.1-Flash-1017, Bloomberg reported on Oct. 17. The company said on X that the release is a small update to V4.1-Flash launched in early September, with higher benchmark performance, faster task completion and shorter responses. DeepSeek said the model is available on the web, its app and its developer platform.

LG Electronics steps up companywide AI work innovation drive, selects 5 projects at hackathon
LG Electronics said it held its first-half AX hackathon to identify work-innovation tasks using AI. About 2,100 employees took part and submitted more than 700 ideas. After two months of screening and verification, the company selected five projects, including a 24-hour autonomous work system for software development. Other projects aim to automate packaging design, improve logistics and SCM analysis, cut administrative work time and generate advertising content.

MegazoneCloud selected as lead operator for Korea\'s AI semiconductor overseas demonstration support project
MegazoneCloud said on Thursday it was selected as the lead operator for the 2026 AI semiconductor overseas demonstration support project for server-type systems run by South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency. It formed the KRFSAI consortium with FuriosaAI, NC AI, Upstage, Uracle and others to design, build and operate an overseas server demonstration environment based on Korean AI semiconductors at Aramco Digital in Saudi Arabia.
