KOSPI falls below 5,800 on Middle East uncertainty; KOSDAQ down over 1 percent
South Korea\'s KOSPI fell 1.61 percent on April 9, dropping below the 5,800 level amid continued uncertainty in Middle East developments. The benchmark index closed at 5,778.01 after extending losses in the afternoon. Foreign investors were net sellers, while individuals and institutions bought. Most heavyweight stocks declined, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The KOSDAQ also fell 1.27 percent. The won weakened against the dollar.

KOSPI surges past 6,300 a day after closing above 6,000 for first time
South Korea\'s KOSPI ended Feb. 26 up 224.31 points, or 3.69 percent, at 6,308.17, breaking above 6,300 a day after its first close above 6,000. The index opened at 6,121.03 and climbed to an intraday high of 6,313.27. Institutions and individuals were net buyers, while foreigners posted net selling. Chipmakers and automakers led gains. Kosdaq rose 1.97 percent to 1,188.15.

BNK Investment Securities runs 3.69 percent credit loan rate event
BNK Investment Securities said on Thursday it will run an interest rate benefit event to ease customers\' interest cost burdens amid rising market rates. The event runs from Jan. 26 to April 24 and targets individual and corporate customers who open non-face-to-face accounts. Customers who first sign up for credit financing or collateral loans during the period will receive a preferential annual rate of 3.69 percent for 180 days from the agreement date.
