[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Samsung SDS said on Friday it signed a strategic partnership with global AI company Anthropic, centered on expanding the enterprise AI market.
Through the cooperation, Samsung SDS will combine the two companies’ technology and industry know-how to strengthen its push into the Korean AI market and support corporate customers’ AI innovation.
The companies plan to cooperate in various areas, including jointly identifying new business opportunities and expanding the market in Korea, training applied AI engineers for building and operating Claude, and supporting a shift to AI-native operations by providing Claude Enterprise to Samsung affiliates.
Based on its digital transformation experience across key industries, Samsung SDS plans to speed up AI adoption by Korean companies and deliver practical business value to customers.
For this, it will actively pursue market development such as joint marketing, proof-of-concept support and joint ventures.
Samsung SDS also runs a training programme to develop applied AI engineers to support Claude deployments.
Applied AI engineers are hands-on experts who design, build and operate AI models to fit corporate workplaces.
Through the programme, Samsung SDS plans to systematically develop specialist personnel who can handle the full process, from planning the introduction of Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude service to build-out, operations and technical support, and strengthen its customer response capabilities.
Ahead of this cooperation, Samsung SDS has been introducing and using Claude Enterprise first for its employees under its "Client Zero" strategy, which applies and verifies new technologies in-house and then expands the experience to external customers.
In the initial weeks after introducing Claude, messages exchanged between Samsung SDS employees and Claude exceeded 1 million, and nearly half of users are using Claude Code, the company said.
Based on this, Samsung SDS plans to support external customers from adoption to use of Claude and expand its AX business step by step.
Chris Ciauri (크리스 시아우리), head of international at Anthropic, said, "Samsung SDS is a highly capable partner with deep expertise in implementing enterprise AI," adding, "We formed a strategic partnership because Samsung SDS has the capabilities to play a key role in accelerating Korean companies’ adoption of Claude."
Lee Jun-hee (이준희), CEO of Samsung SDS, said, "This strategic cooperation is a starting point to jointly lead the growth of the domestic AI market by combining Anthropic’s AI technological capabilities and Samsung SDS’s industry-specific digital innovation experience," adding, "Based on the strengths of both companies, we will support customers’ AI innovation and create new business value through reliable AI solutions."
Samsung SDS is continuing to expand strategic partnerships with global AI companies and is leading the domestic enterprise AI market.
Samsung SDS has built a cooperation system with major AI companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Cloud, and is supporting corporate customers so they can use the latest generative AI technologies safely and efficiently.
