Unity releases 2026 game development report, citing 77% drop in development time and 95% AI adoption
Unity released its 2026 game development report on March 11, based on a survey of 300 game developers and data from about 5 million developers who participated in the Unity engine and ecosystem last year. It said developers are focusing on smaller, easier-to-manage projects and that development time fell sharply. The report also showed broad AI adoption, use of MCP servers, and preferences for crossplay, online multiplayer and diversified revenue models.
