Park In-hwan encourages postman who rescued citizen at explosion site

Park In-hwan (박인환), head of the Korea Post Postal Service, visited the Gunsan Daeya Post Office in North Jeolla Province on April 7 and encouraged postman Han Sang-geun (한상근) for rescuing a citizen at the scene of an incident believed to have been a gas explosion. Han heard a loud blast while delivering mail in February and found a man in his 60s collapsed with heavy bleeding from the forehead. Han provided emergency aid to the victim.

Broadcast Media Communications Commission to support broadcast ad production for 114 small merchants

South Korea's Broadcast Media Communications Commission said on Tuesday it selected 114 small merchants for its 2026 broadcast advertising production support programme. The commission will cover up to 90 percent of broadcast advertising production and airtime costs, up to 9 million won, and provide one-on-one marketing consulting. A total of 615 firms applied. An analysis of last year's programme found supported merchants' average sales rose 7.9 percent and employment increased 11.8 percent from 2024.

Charles Schwab says even 1 percent crypto allocation can shift a portfolio’s risk profile

A report by Charles Schwab said adding even a 1 percent allocation to cryptocurrencies can noticeably change a portfolio’s overall risk characteristics. It said setting a crypto weighting should depend more on how much risk an investor can tolerate than on return forecasts. The report cited bitcoin and ether as highly volatile and said even a 1 to 3 percent allocation could materially alter portfolio behaviour during market stress. It also warned crypto remains speculative and not suitable for everyone.
