Aave ends Avara, to phase out Family wallet and focus on DeFi

Aave Labs is ending the Avara project and will phase out its Family cryptocurrency wallet, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 4. Aave founder Stani Kulechov said on X that Avara was no longer needed and the company would focus on bringing Aave to a wider audience. Family is an iOS-based wallet that supports storing and transferring cryptocurrencies. Cointelegraph said Aave is also strengthening a DeFi-focused strategy.

Uber posts 20 percent rise in fourth-quarter revenue, delivery drives results

Uber records fourth-quarter revenue of $14.4 billion, up 20 percent from a year earlier, with the delivery business growing 30 percent and driving results, CNBC reports. Despite the stronger-than-expected revenue, the stock declines after the earnings release. Uber is positioning AI and autonomous vehicle technology as core growth engines. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi says AI and AV will create a multibillion-dollar market and aims to make Uber the world’s largest AV platform by 2029.

Amazon rolls out Alexa+ AI assistant across United States

Amazon has rolled out Alexa+ nationwide in the United States, CNBC reported on Feb. 4. The AI assistant, launched last year, was previously available on a limited basis through an early waitlist. Alexa+ upgrades the existing Alexa with the ability to manage multiple tasks and handle errands such as booking a repair service or calling an Uber. It costs $19.99 a month, while Prime members pay no extra.
