Upstage to provide Daum AI Summary based on Solar and Renegade

Upstage will provide the Daum portal’s AI Summary service, operated by its subsidiary AXZ, using its Solar large language model and FuriosaAI’s Renegade neural processing unit. At a meeting, executives from the three companies called it the first case linking AI infrastructure, models and services with domestic technology. AXZ said AI Summary handles 20 percent of total queries and plans to expand into vertical services. FuriosaAI said the NPU cuts inference costs by more than 50 percent.

President Lee orders rapid fixes for single-stock leveraged ETFs

President Lee Jae-myung ordered financial authorities to swiftly prepare supplementary measures for single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds, which have been at the centre of a recent stock market volatility controversy. He issued the instruction during a Financial Services Commission briefing at Cheong Wa Dae on July 15. Regulators are reviewing steps including higher minimum deposits, stronger investor education, limits on new listings and tighter liquidity provider quote management.

Financial Services Commission to expand national growth fund to 200 trillion won, push KOSDAQ reform

South Korea’s Financial Services Commission will expand the National Growth Fund to 200 trillion won from 150 trillion won and supply up to 10 trillion won to national strategic technologies. It will broaden support to future strategic industries including aerospace and raise annual direct equity investment support to at least 5 trillion won. The commission also plans KOSDAQ market restructuring, tighter limits on duplicate listings, a shift to T+1 stock settlement and other measures to enhance shareholder value and governance.
