South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee opened a centre dedicated to damage relief linked to probabilistic in-game items. The committee held an opening ceremony at the Busan Cinema Center with about 50 attendees from the culture ministry, the city of Busan and related bodies. It assigned about 20 dedicated staff and will strengthen capabilities through training. It also reorganised to create a one-stop user protection headquarters with counselling, investigation and support teams.

South Korea’s spatial information industry objected to the government’s conditional approval allowing Google to export high-precision map data overseas. Six organisations warned the decision could have major structural effects on the domestic industry and raised concerns about a lack of public deliberation. They cited survey and analysis results showing strong opposition and potential long-term economic costs. The groups demanded 12 conditions, including fair fees, shared use of derived data and equal regulation, and called for a 1 trillion won fund.
