Samsung SDS pushes outsourced data centre build and operations business as new growth engine

Samsung SDS held its 41st annual general meeting on Tuesday at its campus in Jamsil. Shareholders approved items including financial statements, partial changes to the articles of incorporation, appointments of inside and outside directors, appointments of audit committee members and the directors’ remuneration cap. Chief Executive Lee Jun-hee said 2025 revenue totalled 13.93 trillion won and operating profit 957.1 billion won, with cloud accounting for over 41 percent of IT services revenue.

Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission to support youth creator media industry with 8.5 billion won

South Korea's Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission and the Korea Radio Promotion Association will provide 8.5 billion won in support for the creator media industry this year, they said on Tuesday. The support will cover four areas: fostering startups, training core talent, promoting overseas expansion and building a stable growth base. Plans include recruiting tenants for a creator media complex in Seoul and holding a Creator Media Expo in August.

Health data transmitter scope expanded to 337 general hospitals

South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission said on March 18 it will issue a revised notice expanding the scope of health and medical sector data transmitters. The revision adds 337 general hospitals under Article 3-3 of the Medical Service Act to the existing 50 institutions, bringing the total to 387. The commission plans a phased rollout starting with general hospitals connected to the Health Information Highway system.
