China sets national safety standards for Level 3 and 4 autonomous driving, mandatory from 2027

China has drawn up mandatory national safety standards for Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving systems, due to take effect on July 1, 2027. The rules apply to autonomous systems installed in M-class passenger vehicles and N-class commercial vehicles, excluding automated parking. They expand automakers’ safety responsibilities across the product lifecycle and require simulation, closed-course and real-road testing, as well as clearer driver-system interaction requirements.

Wintermute registers as U.S. broker-dealer

Wintermute's U.S. unit, Wintermute USA LLC, has registered as a broker-dealer, a move that can allow the firm to expand its business into traditional financial services in the United States, Cointelegraph reported. Wintermute said the unit registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. It said the registration enables Wintermute USA to trade stocks and stock options and is aimed at responding to an emerging market for tokenised securities.
