OpenAI revises ChatGPT e-commerce strategy into information hub instead of instant checkout

OpenAI's plan to turn ChatGPT into an e-commerce platform like Amazon is not going smoothly. TechCrunch reported on March 24 that OpenAI has revised its strategy, scaling back ChatGPT's instant checkout feature and strengthening product discovery instead. OpenAI said the feature did not provide enough flexibility. It plans to let merchants use their own payment systems and have shops build in-app experiences that direct consumers to their websites.

Viewers reported buffering, freezes, low video quality, delayed subtitles and frequent audience shots, raising questions about unicast streaming limits during traffic spikes.
