XRP Ledger (XRPL) recorded 2,634,440 successful daily payments on Aug. 5, exceeding 2.6 million for the first time in four months.

Blockchain media outlet Decrypto reported on Aug. 10 that XRPL on-chain indicators, which had shown weakness in recent months, rebounded this month.

The key is a sharp rebound in payment activity. Based on figures compiled by XRP Ledger explorer XRPScan, successful daily payments climbed to a yearly high of 4,569,000 on April 8 and then fell steadily. By late April, the figure had dropped to about 2.22 million, and in early May it fell below 2 million. The decline continued to about 1.3 million in early July and about 1.1 million in late July, and it slipped below 1 million to 902,309 on Aug. 1.

The figure then rebounded quickly. Successful payments reached 2,634,440 on Aug. 5, the highest level since April. The outlet noted this was the first time in four months that the total exceeded 2.6 million. The rebound did not immediately hold. Successful payments fell to 2,181,000 on Aug. 7 and dropped again to 1.27 million on Aug. 8. It partially recovered to 1,494,000 on Aug. 9.

User indicators showed a similar pattern. Daily active users fell to 103,474 in mid-July, but rose to 208,406 on Aug. 7. That was a 101 percent increase from the mid-July low. Daily active users topping 200,000 was also the first time since June 2026. The figure eased to 181,903 on Aug. 9 but remained above the recent daily average.

Transaction density also improved. The average number of transactions per ledger stood at 149 on Aug. 5, the highest in three months. That was up 188 percent from a recent low of 51.7 in mid-July. The outlet said the indicator returned to that level for the first time since early May.

The backdrop is weakness in the XRP price. XRP is currently trading at $1.03. That is 71.8 percent below the all-time high of $3.66 recorded in July 2025. It has fallen about 44 percent so far in 2026. The data are marked by the rebound in network usage indicators despite the sluggish price.

The market has again confirmed a gap between price and on-chain activity. The simultaneous rise in payments, active users and transactions per ledger is seen as a signal that overall XRPL usage has entered a recovery phase after months of weakness. Still, with some indicators wavering again after the Aug. 5 surge, further confirmation is needed on whether the short-term rebound will lead to a trend reversal.
