Arm unveils in-house AI chip AGI CPU, Meta and OpenAI join

Arm unveiled its in-house AI chip, the AGI CPU, targeting AI data centres and highlighting performance optimised for agentic AI workloads. The AGI CPU carries 136 Neoverse V3 cores and is designed to scale to 8,160 cores in an air-cooled 1U server and 45,000 cores in liquid-cooled systems. Meta led development, with OpenAI, SK Telecom and SAP joining as early commercial customers.

Japan drugstores to introduce tokenised deposit DCJPY to cut payment fees, workload

Japan's drugstore industry is moving to introduce a digital currency into payment and logistics systems. Blockchain outlet CoinPost reported that the Japan Association of Chain Drug Stores has signed an agreement to introduce DCJPY. DCJPY is a tokenised deposit developed by the Japan Digital Currency Forum, offering real-time payments and 24-hour transactions at lower fees than existing systems. The association plans to use it for payments, logistics, and inventory management.
