Kakao wins presidential citation at 25th Fair Trade Day for small business cooperation

Kakao said on Tuesday it received a presidential citation at an event marking the 25th Fair Trade Day in Seoul for cooperation in the mobile gift certificate market and contributions to small merchants' digital transition. The company said it helped develop shared-growth models such as lowering fees and shortening settlement cycles, and participated in revising standard terms to raise refunds for expired mobile gift certificates.

KOSPI jumps more than 8 percent, recovers 5,400 level amid sidecar trigger

South Korea's KOSPI jumped more than 8 percent on Tuesday to reclaim the 5,400 level, snapping a five-session slide, as a sidecar was triggered amid heightened volatility from the intraday surge. The index closed up 426.24 points, or 8.44 percent, at 5,478.70, marking the second-largest point gain on record. Institutions were net buyers, while individuals and foreigners sold. The Kosdaq also rose, and the won strengthened.

Alibaba AI launches Qwen3.5-Omni with vibe coding and real-time response

Alibaba’s AI research unit Qwen·Tongyi Lab has unveiled Qwen3.5-Omni, an omni-modal model covering text, image, audio and video understanding as well as speech generation. The lab highlighted real-time responses and long-input processing, with a maximum sequence length of 256,000 and support for up to 10 hours of audio input. It also disclosed training data and a dual mixture-of-experts structure, and introduced three product variants with offline and real-time APIs.
