The number of active addresses on the XRP network rose 24.1 percent in 24 hours.

On Aug. 18, blockchain media outlet U.Today reported that network activity expanded even as XRP prices extended their weakness.

With traders exiting positions and selling pressure persisting, XRP has remained near its lows. It fell below $1 at one point and traded around $0.99 to $1.00 over the past week.

On-chain activity, however, rose sharply. On-chain analytics firm Santiment said active XRP addresses increased to 34,318 from 27,665. Network participation expanded even as prices remained weak.

Daily active addresses on the XRP Ledger also climbed to near 50,000, the highest level in two months. User activity has continued to rise despite price moves, widening the gap between on-chain indicators and the market price.

The trend shows that prices and network usage do not necessarily move in the same direction. XRP is under pressure around $1, a psychological support level, but active-address data alone does not show network participation rapidly shrinking.

Still, a rise in active addresses does not necessarily mean an immediate price rebound. Even if network activity increases, the impact on prices could be limited if it does not translate into actual buying demand. The key question is whether the recent improvement in on-chain indicators is temporary or leads to a broader increase in demand for XRP.

It is particularly important whether active-address gains hold while the price remains weak around $1. If buying interest returns along with broader network participation, it could form a basis for a price recovery. If on-chain activity rises but the price does not respond, the current gap could persist for longer.

In the short term, key points to watch include whether active-address growth continues and whether XRP can regain $1 in a stable way. Prices remain weak, but network indicators show signs that market interest has not faded completely.
