Bitcoin bearishness spreads; Santiment says contrarian sentiment may signal rebound

Bearish sentiment on social media around the bitcoin market has surged for the first time in five weeks, raising the possibility that pessimism could lead to a short-term rebound, an analysis said. On-chain analytics firm Santiment said bearish comments on bitcoin climbed to the highest level since late February. It added that markets often move against crowd expectations, and elevated FUD can be a sign conditions may turn positive faster than expected.

Robert Kiyosaki, author of the bestseller "Rich Dad Poor Dad", said the future shaped in 1974 has now arrived and again recommended bitcoin, gold and silver as alternatives to traditional money. He argued that rising debt, inflation and retirement insecurity are increasing risks borne by individuals. He said changes to U.S. retirement rules shifted security away from defined-benefit pensions toward 401(k)-style market savings, warning many baby boomers may face no income after they stop working.
