Samsung group stocks surge beyond Samsung Electronics

Samsung group shares are rising broadly alongside Samsung Electronics, with the market citing strong earnings and a recovery in investor sentiment as Middle East war risk eases. Samsung Electronics rose 3.08 percent on April 16, while Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Samsung SDI also gained. Samsung Electronics reported record quarterly revenue and operating profit in preliminary first-quarter results. Since the start of the year, several affiliates have posted triple-digit gains, lifting the group’s combined market value.

KTOA holds 9th AI Future Value Forum, seeks ways to strengthen AX competitiveness

The Korea Telecommunication Operators Association held its ninth AI Future Value Forum in Seoul on April 16 under the theme of policy proposals for AI infrastructure investment to strengthen global AI transformation competitiveness. The industry-academia-research body includes major telecom operators and experts from academia, law and research institutes. Presentations covered tax credit effects for AI data and data centre costs and insights from MWC 2026, followed by a panel discussion on policy support and telecom operators’ roles.

Oracle and AWS build direct connection network bypassing public internet to ease data movement complexity

Oracle and Amazon Web Services will connect their cloud infrastructure through a private, high-speed link between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and AWS, integrating Oracle Interconnect and AWS Interconnect-multicloud specifications. The companies said joint customers will be able to move data and run applications across both clouds with lower latency. Firms can run applications on OCI while storing data on AWS, or vice versa, without manual routing or complex replication strategies.
