The iPhone 18 Pro could be released in three new colours: dark cherry, sky blue and black, a forecast said.
On Sept. 1 (local time), IT outlet 9to5Mac reported that Weibo tipster Fixed Focus Digital singled out the three colours for Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro that it will unveil next week.
The market has largely expected "dark cherry" or "burgundy" to be the signature colour for the iPhone 18 Pro, with silver and sky blue also launching. Expectations differed on whether black or space gray would be added.
Fixed Focus Digital forecast the iPhone 18 Pro would come in dark cherry or burgundy, sky blue and black. It rated silver as "least likely" and said in a follow-up post that it did not find traces related to that model. If the forecast is correct, the iPhone 18 Pro would not carry over its predecessor’s colours and would present an entirely new lineup.
Sky blue is a colour family Apple has applied to the iPhone Air and MacBook Air. It is closer to a pale tone than a highly saturated blue, and may look like silver under everyday lighting. That is why some interpret it as Apple seeking to draw consumers who prefer silver toward sky blue.
Whether black returns is also drawing attention. The iPhone 17 Pro did not include black or space gray, and some users have expressed disappointment.
Dark cherry or burgundy is being mentioned as a candidate to replace Cosmic Orange, the predecessor’s signature colour. If applied, Apple would keep a warm-toned accent colour while shifting the mood from orange to a deeper red.
Apple has not yet officially disclosed the iPhone 18 Pro colour lineup. Key points to watch at next week’s event are whether dark cherry becomes the new signature colour, and whether silver is dropped and black returns.
